Laundry
The #1
laundry rule!
If you have a stain, do NOT put in the dryer till you are 100% sure the stain is gone! The dryer will set the stain in and make it so much harder to remove.
The same goes for smells!
Do you need to separate whites and colors?
That depends on the results you want.

If you have white towels and sheets then yes I would so that you can use bleach.

If you only have a few white items and you are sure your dark colors items will not "bleed"* on to your light color items - no you do not need to separate loads.
*New items that have not been washed can have dyes that will get into the water and stain other items.
How to remove blood stains
Soak the material in very cold water. Rinse with cold water and repeat. Wash it, but do not dry until you can see the stain is removed.
How to remove ink
Hair spray. Soak the stained area with hair spray and scrub with an old toothbrush and rinse. If the stain is persistent let the hair spray soak in and repeat.

How to care for Wool

When wool says hand wash it means hand wash! Do not use the hand wash setting on the washing machine! That will shrink it!
After hand washing ring-out extra water and stretch back to original shape and lay flat to dry.

Items that are 100% wool do not need to be washed often - maybe 1-2 times per year even if you wear them frequently.
